BBC News and Sport on Tour

Angel, went to the BBC News and Sport on Tour in Bristol last weekend - and saw Dan!

Well... a poster of him anyway.

The next (and final) stop for the tour is Swansea (15th to 17th August), if you fancy having a go at presenting a weather bulletin and meeting someone from the BBC Weather team.

Angel says it's harder that it looks;

No script, no autocue, a monitor that shows them their graphics in reverse and a director shouting all manner of things in their ear whilst they have to remember what they have got to tell you about the weather! Wow! It is apparently the hardest thing to present.

From my limited experience, I can second that.

There's even a BBC News and Sport on Tour Facebook group, on which I found another photo of the same poster of Dan. Look carefully - Dan's in it twice!

Seminar

The Royal Meteorological Society and GASCo have organised a 'Weather to Fly' seminar at Oxford Kidlington Airport on Saturday 14th October 2006, with Dan Corbett as keynote speaker.
Tickets cost £20. No idea if you have to be a member or if it's open to all.

There are two pages on the RMetS website about this event. However, one of these links through to a page on the GASCo website, which names the keynote speaker as Peter Gibbs.
