Dan's debut on TVNZ's 6pm One News.
There are three forecasts on this programme; a brief update at 6pm before the headlines; a longer one at about 6.25pm and a detailed forecast at around 6.55pm.
It's packing its bags, it's heading out the door.
Liked the weather reference in Wendy's introduction:
The winds have blown in a new member to the One News family; Dan Corbett has joined our expert weather team.
Then, against a picture of a dog-walker at sunrise:
For some of us it was a good-looking day to take the odd doggie out for the walk in the morning.
This Dan-ism alone kept me smiling all day:
Milford jumps out like a blue beacon. Wrrk! Wrrk!
There's a Vine of that one, below.
Lambs on the backdrop now:
Even these lovely ones here, they probably are thinking, 'hmmm, there is some rain on the way.'
The fine-looking weather over the past couple of days has probably been pretty good for the picnic baskets and the packed lunches, but put those aside and instead reach in the cupboard and grab those raincoats, they will certainly come in handy over the next couple of days.
He then goes on to compare a weather front to a garden hose (with gestures).
Keep an eye on Sunday, maybe put a few raindrops on the calendar [gestures doing so].
Simon: What a pro.
There's video of all 3 forecasts nicely merged into a single video, below.
Loved reading the overwhelmingly positive reactions to Dan's forecasts on Twitter. Can't beat a good bit of Dan-appreciation.
Thanks to NaruTVMock for this video - and to @ker_fuffle who also uploaded all three.
