Trevor Fry: Daniel Corbett is the man with the magic...
Dan: Well, it's some sort of magic. You look at the weather and you look at the weather maps and you go, 'what month are we in?'. It's just bizarre.
The cooler air to the north and this milder air that's working in, the two are having a bit of a shoving match - and I think the milder air is winning at the moment.
There might be a few spots of rain, maybe the odd outbreak here and there, a little bit of drizzle, but nothing really to shake a stick at.
Imagine almost taking a hose in the garden, you sort of wiggle it around on a midsummer's afternoon or something, that's what the weather front is doing, just wiggling about.
By the weekend all those light jackets, you might be out-and-about or perhaps you'll sort of be saying, 'no, I don't think I'll be using that', you might be grabbing it for the extra layer.
Mild for the time being, and then it's all going to change, like a roller-coaster ride, you go up and you go down and you finally - it stops and you say, 'right, everyone out'.

BBC Radio Devon
By the weekend, instead of saying, 'mild', you might be saying 'brrr! It's cold'.
That weather front is still wavering about like a bit of a snake wiggling in the grass of sorts; up and down, up and down as it goes.
Listen again, about 1h 48m in. Available for 7 days from broadcast.

You go outside and you see all the leaves blowing about, the neighbour's dustbin halfway down the road and you think, 'oh, it's just going to be bone-chilling', but it's that mild air that works in, you just get greeted by it in the morning or something and you go 'phew! Boy!'.
There's a big lump of wet weather, a big lump of rain that's been wiggling its way like a big snake across the British Isles.
We'll watch that weather front just meander his way slowly, up and down, a bit like you're sort of shaking a little bit of a- like wiggling a garden hose, really.
Then we'll all be saying, 'oooh, the extra layers, please'.
Listen again, about 1h 13m in. Available for 7 days from broadcast.
