I am absolutely not obsessed with Charlie and Lola (much)
Distressed by the lack of Charlie and Lola t-shirts in adult size, I set about making my own.
I brought all my Charlie and Lola books home from school tonight and scanned in some pictures.
Not sure if it's just our scanner that's a bit crap, or if all scanners make the image a bit grey and dirty looking, but I had to clean them up a bit first.
That's when I noticed something strange about Lola's head.
The pre-TV series books have unique pictures on each page. The TV series books have Lola the clone; her head is exactly the same in each picture - only the eyes and mouth change. See;

weird ear on the left, blue bows in her hair, wave in the fringe at the front.
Charlie too - he's got a kind of J in his hair:

And the TV episodes feature the clone heads too.
Oh, and if you look at the dedication at the front of 'I am too absolutely small for school'; pictures of Masie and Clemmie. Perhaps Masie and Clementine Cowell?
As for the t-shirts, I think I'm going to go for that top right Lola on a red t-shirt, with a small Charlie and Lola logo on the back - and maybe Sizzles on one sleeve. I'm also trying to get a screengrab from the title sequence of Lola sucking pink milk up through a straw. Would look great on a pink t-shirt.

Funny, I'd never heard of Charlie and Lola before this post, and when I had my older girl out at Borders this past weekend, what should I see but a DVD of same. I didn't investigate, to avoid lobbying for purchase of it... although frankly I don't think that she knows what a DVD is, yet, it's not like she ever sees them in use at the house.

I did not realize that there were BOOKS about Charlie and Lola. My kiddies love the TV show. I suppose I will be checking out the books next time we are at the bookstore!
